HRT: Added Arimidex and bloat is increasing?

OK, so I'm on HRT (100mg Test/week, 250iu hcg EOD). Ran bloodwork, and E2 levels are elevated (67). I was experiencing a little bit of bloat, not much, and BP was good (120-130/70-80) and has been the entire time. Libido was good.

Tossed in .5mg Arimidex EOD per doc's orders. Blood pressure is climbing, and last night I noticed I'm holding a lot of water - ankles are noticeably puffy. Now, I've never had bloat this bad before, even when on Deca. BP is now hitting 130-135/85-90. Libido is taking a hit; not completely dead, but definitely not as horny as I was.

The only other change I've made was to eliminate any sources of soy protein in my diet, but those were really pretty minor.

Anybody heard of this? Isn't this pretty much "upside-down"? Am I really a Martian trapped in a man's body?

How long have you been on the Arimidex for?
Have you considered asking your doctor if he thinks you should go up to .5mg ED?

At 100mgs of Test per week, you don't need .5mgs arimidex EOD, tell your doctor to reevaluate the situation. All you need is .25mgs E3D, if that. Basically, too much of a good thing is not good. Also, how is your diet? have you changed sodium intake or cardio/training regiments?

Keep in mind, a lot of TRT patients don't run any anti-estrogens, especially at dosages you're doing, so go talk to your doctor and discuss this with him.

What Mr.X said.

Arimidex blocks the conversion of testosterone to estrogen, so it is generally started at the same time as the testosterone. If you already have plenty of testosterone that has converted to estrogen, arimidex won't help - you already have the estrogen so it is too late. In that case, you could use nolvadex, which blocks the estrogen receptor, but that may not be necessary in your case.

In your case, your dose of T is quite low - HRT-level dosing. You could add a light dose of adex as Mr.X suggests. Expect it to take some time to start working, however, as you need to wait for all the estrogen already produced to clear your system.

I have also noticed adex reduces my libido. I would take the smallest amount that works effectively. Unfortunately that will be a little hard to determine because of the estrogen already in your system. You could try using the lower dose proposed by Mr.X and just wait a few weeks to assess how it is working out.

Diet/training is steady, no changes. Might be overtraining a bit, but don't think that would affect the bloat thing.

I'm going to speak with the doc this week, wanted to get some Mr.X feedback first. Thanks!

THanks bro!

I have another blood workup coming up in mid-March.

1 week. Going over my food/training logs, that's the only change I've made, and the bloat worsened significantly over Mon and Tuesday.

Thanks, bro!

well presuming 250 iu hcg is an effective dose for you, it can certainly raise estrogen levels. whatever the cause, e is too high, since you posted it measured at 67 ... i would not reduce anti-a dose until e measured down to 15-20. one other thing once e gets out of hand as in your case there can be a lag in recovery, maybe a week or two to clear and really dry out, and thus to feel the benefit of an anti-a. let the blood work be your guide
