ok this is trial and error i am going to school for dermatology right now have been for the past 2 years and i have found that if you buy 32 grade or 240 grade sand paper from you hardware store and lightly brush your face with it until its slightly red every 2 or 3 days it drys your face out and, keeps acne from scaring and keeps it more under control. I have personally taken every known antibiotic, and tried all face creams and have not yet come across anything that works as well for me and my friends while on cycle especially, than sand paper just try it you have nothing to loose, you can pay up to 150 a treatment for microdermabrasions when the do they same exact thing. Sand!!!

it doesnt matter if you bath regurlaly if your geneics are oily skin. If you are exceptable to acne vulgaris, phsistic acne you no matter what you do the only thing that will work for you is accutane. But accutane and steroids mixed is a deadly combination. You have to get regular blood test for accutane users. Also on accutane you have to make sure you cholesterole levels are minimum and your calorie intake is not high or there is chance of heart attack. Accutane is expensive any way. Sand paper is cheap at it works. This thread is for people who are prone to acne vulgaris not little pimples lol.... please .

sand paper would work but it sounds like a crazy way about keeping acne quite. iv had acne for years and the only shit that i found that works is proactive. watching the adverts might make it sound like bullshit but it does work. i know someone that was on accetain, got so depressed that they comitted suicide. fuck that shit.
dead skin cells is what causes your pores to block up and causes a buildup of sebum behind it that swells up and gets infected, ie pimple.
all that needs to be done if exfoliate your skin. If you fellas dont know what exfoliate means it when you rub yourself down with a corse cream or loufer to get rid of dead skin cells. so like you where saying sandpaper would work but there are a hunderd exfoliant creams you can buy with a sandy substance in it that would work better. proactive contains an exfoliant cream with benzolperoxide that keeps pimples away. cost a bit of coin but ya cant go wrong if you have a bad acne problem.

you are being serious?

Acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory disorder involving the pilosebaceous unit in the skin. The pathogenesis is related to plugging of the outlet of a hair follicle by keratin debris. Increased sebum producation is regulated by androgens. Rx involves comedolytic agents, sebum control, anti inflammatories. (Theres alot more written in the pathology book where I got this info from.)

Get this, sand paper with a higher grit (over 600) might work as a comedolytic agent. Salicylic acid works just as good. Sebum control is via anti androgen receptor drugs, or estrogen. And for the anti inflammation, they use antibiotics.

Theres alot to lose when it comes to acne so be careful. You dont want to be scarred for the rest of your life. Sand paper too deep and youll have a nasty skin infection. Since your face is so close to your brain (duh) you might as well get meningitis or some facial nerve palsy. Good luck :)

damn brother youve done your research thats all correct every thing derailed and hayz have said, but with abrasive skin care products most of them come scented wich can also irritate your skin more than kneeded proactive has natural abrasives in it but for some people like my self its just not enough to kick those skin cells from clogging the pores. Microdermabrasion will make sure your skin cells stay fresh. Sand paper is the closest thing you can get to a microdermabrasion there is no i mean no face product that will exfoliate your face as much as sand pape. Im telling you guys dont go buck ass wild with it comon just do it until you feel a little burn then use antibacterial dial. to rinse. Dont rub until you bleed that will cause infection microdermabrasions leave your face pink all day just rub until your face feels tight. This will keep acne controlled for those who nothing else works for. I promise. I put my reputation if i have one on the line for this.

I didn't know Jessica Simpson was an EF member? Let's see those tits!!!

Tea tree is one of the only essential oils checked by FDA for its positive role in dermititis skin lesions. Stuff smells funky, but it works. Witch Hazel constricts the blood vessels so maybe it works on acne. But im not sure if it will penetrate deep enough. Its used for puffy eyes from not sleeping or boozing the day before haha. it works because the vessels under your eyes are close to the thin skin surface.

if you try to use sand paper, put some after shave on your face. If it burns more than a regular shave, youve sanded too much. if anyone tries this and sands too much, post pictures so other members know and remember that its not a joke.

swindell7591 is right about the scented face products. they can and will iritate your skin. even worse they can cause a rash. the only reason why they are on the market is cause woman like nice smelling lotions and creams. guys, stick to nivea or other water based hypoalleric face creams. no reason to be paying 40x as much for 'special men' face products.

Bro, 240 grit is what I use to rough up bare metal before I spray it with epoxy primer. It etches the metal surface pretty darned good...can't imagine what it might do to skin :worried: Different strokes for different folks though...not knockin' it if it works for you. Can't imagine me doing it to myself though.

EEEK! Just go tanning! He must be a masicist. :worried:

read up on what sun can do to acne vulgaris lol go ahead go tanning with acne cyst all you will do is leave a scar the same size and shape as your cyst. lol!!!!!!! you guys are so ignorent.

I prefer the belt sander myself with about 80 grit. You get the real deep clean with that-down to the dermis. :p

Really though. I am in my 30's and still get that shit. I find that if I wash my face with just water and wash cloth I don't break that often. If I put soap on my face-its zit city.

i just got a PM saying vagisil works wonder's on skin. try that and keep us posted

vitamin B-5 (panthotenic acid) 1 or 2 grams (1,000-2,000 mg) 2 or 3 times a day - you should work up to that dose or you'll probably get a nasty case of the runs -

when I dont take it, my skin gets very oily on cycle. taking it at that dose, theres no difference in skin oiliness for me on and off cycle. granted my genetics dont predispose me to acne, but I do get oily without treatment.

Oily skin secondary to androgrens is one thing, but when you have certain strains of strepococcus or is it Staph (I think) bugs that produce lipase which break down the sebum oils into cyto irrantant chemicals which irritate the hair follicle that cause the acne.

Bottom line is, wash your face/ body with a scrub to remove any dirt/ debris, then use something like saliciaycate (sp?) acid w/ urea to cleanse. Use anything from a rag, to sand paper for the scrub.
