how to eliminate static electricity

how are you supposed to deal with this? i get shocked about 8 times a day, i don't know how to remove the charge from me w/o getting a shock.

i already do, that doesn't work.

I'll probably have to wear a rubber glove around the apartment when i turn on lights and touch metal.

i figure dipping my hand into a pot of water might eliminate the extra polar charge, but i don't know if that will work.

Keep yourself grounded at all times or eliminate whatever is generating the static charge; shoes. Just go barefoot, dude.

Get a humidifier...static is worse around the house in the winter because the heat dries everything out. You could also lotion yourself up with a good moisturizer, especially your hands, arms and feet. Also try rubbing those fabric softener sheets on your clothes or spritzing them with dilluted liquid softener.

Don't pump gas....

When getting in and out of viehicles, you have a key in your hand.
Touch the key to something metal which drains the charge out of you.
From you, to the key, to the metal ground.
If you don't have a key in your hand, use the ring on your finger.

Around the house, there's nothing like a humidifier.

Same here, and its not just a little white shock either. Its a full blown lightning bolt.

I must look like a total pussy when I shut my doors, because I have to kinda slap at the door a few times to release the lightning bolt. ZAP!!! ouch! fuck!!

I have one of those stroller wool coats and a leather coat with fur lining and car doors and pretty much anything metal gets me to

and since fingers are sensitive I close and touch things with my elbow first then one the charge is gone us my hand

I don't mind and actually kinda get a kick outta getting a little shock when I go to touch something. It doesn't happen here much in FL though...just on days like today when it's actually cold out and the heat's been on.

The only ones that really bother me are shocks when you kiss someone. That happened to me this morning as I left my daughter at school...thinking ahead, first I put my hands on her shoulders, then her face, and when I kissed her there wasn't any shock, but then after she was out of the car, she gave me another kiss and whamo...got the shock! We both laughed. :rainbow:
