I'm trying to find a certain elite member and read some of that persons posts, but I can't locate them. I already went to "search" and that didnt help because it kept saying I needed to be more specific with my search and I don't know how I can be any more specific. someone help here

Click on their profile, and at the top right, click on "SEARCH FOR ALL POSTS BY THIS USER".

if you know what one of their posts has to do with type that in as a keyword... you'll get a shitload of results, but it's better than searching the entire board.

Try going to your own profile and adding them to your "buddy list". Once it is added, then you can click on their name and it will show you their profile. Once there, then just do as previously mentioned. You can delete them off your buddy list when finished.
