Not terribly tall for a dutch woman darktooth. For some reasons the average height of the aryan dutch (about 80% or so of the population) is probably 5' 9'' or so. I am only slightly taller then average.

Varsen, the average height you mention is for all dutch people taken together. I mentioned only for the ethnic aryan dutch. We have many chinese and indonesians immigrents now which make the total average lower.

Caged brings a interesting topic. The myth that asians are still generally shorter then whites. It was only lack of protein that makes many asians shorter then whites. This is changing rather quickly. Since the second world war the average height of japanese has come up i think as much as 6 inches.

I think most (maybe all) of the difference in height between races is only a subject of nutrition.

Most people here or in any other boards bullshit about their heights... remember, the average white north american male is about 5"10 1/4, latino 5"8 and asian american 5"8 1/4, so if you see most numbers getting too far away of those averages you call bullshit... Of course, in Portugal the national average is about 5"8 1/2 or so, and i have 2 friends who are 6"4, so who can say?

I used that word only because it is easy and simple to mention. I define it in this way: people of middle and northern europa descent and who have also a rather high freqentcy of blue eyes and lighter hair colour.

Nederland has bascially two sorts of citzens, ones who families have lived there through many generations and those people who have begin coming since the 1950s (dutch antillen, indonesia, suriname, china, turkey, etc) The greatest different in height between the "white" dutch and the newer dutch is in those who were not raised here and have just come. This is part of why i think nutrition during the childhood is a big part of adult hieght.
