How often to drink the Whey Protein shakes ?

Well I have been doing the 4x6 routine which is a combo one of my BB friends made up, sort of a mix between the 3x5 and 5x5 programs

Anyway's I have been doing it for almost a month now and surprised I can say I actually see some results already, plus when I started I also added the GNC Whey Protein shakes to my workouts. I have just been taking the shakes before and after my workouts with one scoop each is that enough ?

I am 5'10 165lbs and training to gain some more muscle mass, I would be happy with just getting to 175lbs of muscle not fat, but I have always had a lean body being a Mountain Biker and snowboarder for fun for many years

That's fine, but don't make it a habit of taking them all the time. I mainly do what you do, sometimes 2 scoops post, just to get quick protein in the body after working out, then make something to eat a half hour or so later. Sometimes I don't use whey at all and just drink milk.

Before/after workout is fine. Pre is fine as it supplys your body with a steady source of aminos during your workout. And, Post is always important, as your body needs a fast absorbing protein source, and whey is the fastest. Sounds like you're good to go.

Make sure you're also getting a good amount of protein just before bed, as you're going a long time during sleep without any food, and can easily drift into a catabolic (muscle burning) state. Whey in this spot is not ideal.... A cassein based protein here is more effective. Cottage cheese is a good example, anyhow, gl to ya bro.
