How much information can you store on a CD-R?

650mb for regular 74 min CDs.

700mb on the 80 min CDs.

Get the 80s... I don't even think they sell 74s anymore - I sure wouldn't.

hey code - is your avatar evolving?
at first it was the SuSE logo and now it is different - I've noticed tiny changes in the name and color too...

talk to me sister.

Yeah, I'm moving away from SuSE as a secure platform. I like SElinux now.

So I'm slowly evolving my avatar into some less SuSE-like.

SElinux just looks like a lot of overhead to me - but then again, I don't need anything that secure.
I always like mandrake as of late for ease of install and the fact that it is pentium optimized (all that really means is they set that flag in the compiler which you can do with anything you install... but it sounds cool).

haven't run it in awhile though - none of my servers are up right now since I move tomorrow morning and won't have net access until next weekend.

solaris, yum

lol - slow-aris :)
it has some cool built in shit with it and it is used all over, but other than that, it has a ton of stuff that I have no need for (I've run 3 different version of it since '98)
it used to be defacto b/c of Oracle, but now that runs on linux and windows, so there are many people leaving solaris.
(if you want something really worthless, grab a SunBlade - lol)

I think if I setup a new server I'll do freebsd since I want to shut off most of the services and it comes that way anyway.

If you get Solaris, go with the Secure version.

But I like SElinux for doing simple yet secure things.....IPSec gateways, IDS and content encrypters.
