how much ab work do you all do?

how many days a week do you train abs? what exact exercises do you do and how many reps/sets? does being on steroids allow you to not have to worry about this as much as someone who does not do steroids?

I do abs 4x a week, basically all I do is crunches and the ab machine with alot of weight. total I do about 350reps 4-6 sets depending on how I feel.

only work abs eight weeks out from a show...I found that heavy training without a belt makes my abs grow...when I do abs I do decline crunches, cable crunches, reverse crunches, and side bends on a back extention machine with only bodyweight....

I use not to do any abs work, but now, my new working partner got me into it. We do it 4 days a week ( those are days we train) at the end of the workout, before cardio.
We do hanging knee raises, and crunches on the machine.

I too just do them while dieting. And even at that I only hit them once a week. I do use heavy weight at this point. During the off season they get more than enough stimulation from heavy lifts. They are involved in almost every exercise you do. Mine grow freakily fast and freakily big. If I train them while bulking I look pregnant.

You can't make your back stronger without doing abs. I think roman chair type work is more suitable for strengthening exercises. Doing ab work has actually added poundage to my squat, and if you want a big squat, then you've got to hit the abs.

I work abs 4 days a week. I do two different crunch type machines, and side crunches on a bench. Reps usually run 15 depending upon weight for 3 sets of each...

Now you guys got me thinkin, 1 day a week of abs ain't enough! I guess they would be hard to overtrain wouldn't they? maybe I'll kick it up to 4 days an see what happens. I'm a 32" with a 4 pack if I sqeeze real hard but a relaxed 6 pack would look pretty cool.

I do abs two days a week. Abs can be overtrained like any other muscle. I do cable crunches, wegithed decline crunches and weighted leg lifts.
YUM

Twice a week, decline sit ups, hanging crunches, and cable pulldowns. I usually do 3 sets of 20 for each exercise.

abs

I do it twice a week at the end of my squat and deadlift workouts. Usually 3-4 sets of 8-12 reps. Heavy cable crunches for the most part. Every once in a while I will do some oblique work.

Lately I have been doing super sets at the end both my squat and deadlift workout. I'll do my reverse hypers and then as soon as I get off it, I'll walk over to the lat machine and do my ab work.
