does one have to be a platinum member? Not sure how to do this as copy & paste doesn't work.

BBF -- yes that is me! I had those pics taken a year ago for my hubby's bday. About 23 pics of glamour photos. A little thinner now, so I'll have to have some new pics taken.

Here's one of me in 1997 when I was 170 lbs. I'm now about 135.

Wow! Major improvment. I have a hardon still from looking at the first 2.

Thanks!! It certainly is an evolution.....

I'm working on losing bodyfat, but lately not doing very well.

Just keep getting advice here. It depends on your goals. I don't always care for the ultra lean look. You have a great body in the first two pictures... very sexy.

I can relate though, I was about 35% bf when I started training.

Whoa Nelly! You look awesome jencats! Very sexy! And you are smaller now? Wow. Not that you needed improvement in those pictures.... :)

Agreed, I do not consider that to be fat at all.

Oh, well, I don't think I'm fat at all. I would just like to be somewhat leaner. I would like to be 18-20% bf but can't seem to get below 23%. Plus I'm working at increasing the weight I can lift.

Thanks guys!!

I think I'm a little fat right now, but I'm trying to put on size, so I'll have to live with it. Here is my crappy web cam pic taken this week. 231 ibs right now.

23% is below average for a woman. You can get to 18 though, just keep dieting, and training hard. Good, you are trying to lift heavier while losing body fat.

I guess with bf it's good to be below average!! The diet is soooo hard for me to stick with. I get on a cycle of doing very well then blow it completely. I also just can't have 2 Hershey's kisses to satisfy my chocolate needs -- I have to eat 24. It's a vicious cycle.

BBF -- it's hard to tell in the little pic but you do look fuller. Do you have to put on a bunch of weight & then will you diet to lose it again? Good luck!

I have gained very little body fat. I use a high calories CKD and do cardio, but I will have to diet. I've put on a bit of water weight, which is acceptable. If nothing else it, keeps my muscle hydrated. None-the-less, yes I will have to diet down afterwards if I want to have nice abes again. I'm around 10% bodyfat at the moment, if I had to make a guess.

Ummmm...chocolate... I'm the same way. If I eat one, the entire bag is in grave danger.

BBF -- Well I can't imagine that you would look better than the avatar pic, cuz you look really, really good in that one. Post new pics & we'll all do a comparison!!

I'll depend on you for info so I can get to my goals!! Is it possible for a person to have a set bf% based on genetics? So, say I'm 23% bf now. Would it be impossible or improvable for me to get much below that if my genetics are that I've come from a very heavy family? Or would I just have to diet XXXXX hard?

I belive in set point theory in terms of totally mass yes. However this controls hunger more than anything. The farther above this weight one gets the less of an appetite they have. Mine is 225-230, so now I'm having to force myself to eat. When one gets far below it, they become very hungry, all the time.

No, it's just that 23% is a bit of a sticky point for you right now. Its below average, and you were overweight, so your body may be a bit reluctant to drop more bodyfat. Adjust your diet and make some changes in your routine, suppliments etc that speed up metabolism and you'll start to see progress again.

Thanks for the compliment. Believe me, it means a lot coming from attractive women when they compliment my body (I blush sometimes in real life), because I was fat prior to my change in lifestyle. Its funny that I still blush even if I've been getting alot of them. At my last job, and at the gym I get them alot.

I would say you'll just have to diet extra hard. Some people are just leaner naturally, but 18% is NOT unattainable for pretty much any female.

My genetics aren't terrific for leanness, but when my diet is good, it's isn't hard for me to lose BF. But I am definately one of those people that have to do cardio. No matter how clean my diet is, I think I'll always have to do cardio to help keep BF off. *sigh* Diet is the #1 key to get in line.

God I love chocolate too. My first "off diet" meal will be pizza and cheesecake. :)

Pizza is my favorite cheat food. Anywhat what is with women and cheesecake. I grew up in a housefull of women, with no men (my dad was out of town alot for work, 2 or 3 weeks at at time), and all I knew was when I saw cheesecake boxes pilled in the garbage it was time to get out of the house because everyone was on the rag and it was dangerous to stay around.

ummmmmmmm cheesecake. But it has to be Cheesecake Factory Cheesecake. With strawberries. Or Oreo Cheesecake. Actually, any damn cheesecake will do.

I'm hungry.

Gawd, I haven't had cheesecake in years!! My downfall is wine with cheese & crackers. I love having a few glasses of wine with cheese & crackers! Ummmm Beer is good too......

Daisy -- I think I'm one of those "must do cardio" people too. I've slacked off on the cardio lately & I can really feel it. sigh I've got to get back into a routine!

I eat alot of swiss. It works well with my current diet. I have a ibs of it I bought this afternoon that I'm going to knock down tomarrow.

Funny, about a month ago I was fiercely CRAVING cheese and crackers. I ate about a whole box of Wheat Thins and a huge block of swiss cheese.

Great, now all I can think about is having some Brie.... Thanks. :)

PS - and you get back to doing that cardio! :)

I'm jealous too! How did we get on the food topic yet again??

This diet stuff is sooo hard!!

Daisy --- yes ma'am I think I've gotta get back on the cardio horse! Was hoping I could cut back, but doesn't look like it.

Yeah, but ALL I eat is meat, cheese, nutts, oils, and raw green veggies, except for my carbup days.

Do you get bored by what you eat? I do & I think that's when I cave in. I try to eat something different every day. Do you stick to the same menu most of the time?

Yes, I'll eat the exact same food, 10 meals a day, sometimes 3 or 4 days in a row. I've learned to enjoy what eat, rather than eat what I enjoy. That was part of the key to my original weight loss.
