Like the subject states. How? Is it because high estrogen lowers the thyroid? Or is it because of some other mechanism?

How does high estrogen decrease libido and mood?

that is a major myth first off. ask anyone who runs test with no AI how their libido is.. most of them will say it feels like they are 17 again. test their estrogen and it will likely be on the high end or over
second off you should reverse the question. meaning why does the person who isn't juicing, have high estrogen in the first place, THAT IS THE REASON they have low libido. poor lifestyle choices is the culprit, could be depression. but just cause you have high estrogen doesn't always mean you will have low libido, thats just flat out false... i bet a lot of these fat gamer types who sit around all day eating hot dogs and ice cream (and have sky high estrogen) are horny, they just can't find a girl that will mess with their lazy asses.
and third off if it was that easy to fix libido then every guy over 30 would be on AI's to drop estrogen.. the fact is that dropping estrogen isn't gonna do a thing for libido.. libido is 99% mental.
fourth off the one thing you could do is cripple prolactin, so your question should really be why does lowering prolactin result in higher libido. and that answer IMO is because we evolved to get satisfaction after climax and prolactin would go up, just a way for mother nature to ensure we didn't over breed so we would lose interest in sex after doing it

^yeh my last cycle I ran test with no AI, and my libido was better than it had been in 20 years (since 18). Estrogen can be your good friend if you dont let it get out of hand
