how do you trademark an idea?

i have this idea about a website that would be very beneficial to employees. i know there is no website out there like this and i know it will do extremely well. i dont have the funds to start this up of course. so how can i get this idea trademark so no one else uses it and how do i go by getting someone to finance it?

get this book. Cheap. Breaks the process down so even a 10 y/o can understand the process and put together a pretty sufficient patent.

Which you can then save mucho bucks, by taking final package to experienced lawyer for fine-tuning.

They are right about a patent. Good luck with those, I hear they are a pain. Patent lawyers still invest like 300 or so of their money for their own. Imagine what a lawyer would charge you for one. I am not sure about the do it yourself route, I know lawyers are not necessary, but they make life easier. Good luck bro.
