How do you test gbl?

Is there a way to test gbl to see how pure it is?

Not without a lab...

What do you need pure GBL for? Would the contaminants be water? You can "dry" the gbl by runnning it through a filter packed with epsom salt. That will take the water out. Or, you could just distill it but I doubt you have the glasswear for that.

I see people saying that they got ahold of 99.9+ pure gbl. I was just wondering how they test it so they can say that?

They can't... at least not in a kitchen. Fractional distillation will still yield some contaminants.
