How do you make oatmeal taste good?

Mix in protein powder with splenda or cane sugar, mix in maple syrup, fresh fruit, natty peanut butter, fruit preserves, or..

Take some canned fruit with light syrup and put it in a container, then add enough oatmeal (not too much) to soak up the juices. Let it set over night, and in the morning you should have a decent tasting version of oatmeal. Peaches work best.

And always add a good source of protein with it (along with it).

You grind whole oats to a flour-like consistency, and mix them with butter, sugar, eggs, a leavening agent, and chocolate chips. Round dough into balls and bake in the oven at 375 degrees for 12 minutes.

You said "taste good", you didn't say anything about not giving a cookie recipe. ;)

Some people swear by putting a scoop of chocolate whey and a little bit of natural peanut butter in their oatmeal for a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup taste, or adding cinnamon and splenda. (Cinnamon is also a mild glucose disposal agent, like ALA or chromium.)

Hmm, I like that idea of a scoop of vanilla whey and peanut butter.

So, how do I do that? I'm a little clueless on oatmeal. Get a bowl with 1 cup of oatmeal, 1 tbsp of pb, and 1 scoop of whey, and what else (water? or milk) Microwave for how long?

oatassmeal really tastes like ass no matter what you do to it... thats my conclusion after 2 days of trying to make the best out of it..
nothing has worked.

Add honey...

Every morning I will eat 2 bowls of cinnamon and apple oatmeal and I will add a lot of honey to it.

I don't know about you but i try to eat oats at least once a day. They give me so much energy in the gym it's ridiculous! Since i'm pressed for time in the mornings, i'm used to drinking my oats now.

I hate oatmeal - it makes me gag. Nothing helped at all.

So I stopped trying to stomach it and switched to Cream of Wheat. THAT I like. I mix it with water, splenda and cinnamon...yummy. If you eat fruit, it is good with sliced banana and splenda.

soak it in a lil' bit of water and zap for 40 sec's....i'm well beyong the point of where I care about the taste of food I consume...the easier and the faster the meal is prepared the happier I am.

actually today my mom told me how to make it and I downed a whole bowl... its not the greatest thing i've eaten but it can be done.

I guess I just dont kno how to cook.

if you think oatmeal tastes bad, you've obviously never been on keto. There is no such thing as a bad tasting carb source : P

so true ZK...it's actually because of CKD that I actually learned to eat broccoli - was so appealing while in ketosis, even thought it's mostly fiber and tastes like carton paper..

Mmmm, oatmeal. I'm crazy for the stuff! :) I guess you either like it, or not. I haven't heard of many who acquire a taste for it if they didn't like it to begin with.

My favorite breakfast (probably my favorite meal period) is oats with cinnamon, splenda, egg whites, and some chopped almonds...sometimes blueberries too!

I even love plain cooked oats with ground beef or turkey and veggies mixed in. Yes, I am an odd one. :)

Kraze, Splenda is an artificial sweetener. Kind-of similar to Equal or Sweet-n-Low, but it's made from a substance called sucralose instead of aspartame or saccharin. Sucralose is some kind of offshoot of sucrose (same or similar molecular structure, or some such thing), so it tastes more like sugar than its older artificial sweetener cousins, but due to its structure it's not absorbed by the body, hence no calories. You can probably go to www.splenda.com for more details on the process, that's all I know of it. :)

I just mix a cup and half in with my protein shakes. Blend it up good and you hardly know it's there. I also mix oatmeal in with my PB for my peanut butter sandwiches. Its a little hard to choke down some days, but overall its aight.

Try to mix in half a pack of Jello Sugar Free instant pudding(or The one w/ Sugar if you don't care) with just a little more water. They have a lot of flavors. I like pistachio or butterscotch for a treat.
