the man has a point.

When I'm in the same boat, I give myself 15 minutes to write down all of the thoughts going on in my head. Usually, it turns out to be a to do list--things I forgot to put down on my to-do list at work. If I'm on trial, I have to take sleeping pills. But I still do the same thing. I write down defense theories, voir dire/closing argument sound bytes, etc. This usually calms me down enough to get some sleep.

bombing around

when you mention bombing around in your head..do you mean stressful thoughts or some such..or the remnants of the ECA stack you took,or the yohimbe you ingested prior to your workout?..lots of times i find my body is tired but my brain isn't..or my brain is tired and my body isn't..i just don't sleep well at all..can't take meds either as i own a funeral home and i might have to get up at any minute..I can't go to someones house at 4 am with a foggy head and discuss the issues of their dead "kin"...melatonin?

1) listen to music

2) sex if available :)

3) cars, trains, planes...make sure you are not driving though :eek2: (naps can really help)

Actually I rarely have trouble falling asleep...but I wake up early...it's kinda a problem. There's no sleep meds for that btw.

Posting on the Internet is NOT helpful except if I am waiting for a reply, that kinda thing, I get it...resolves something...

Apart from that it rather keeps me awake...

Good luck...may

Re: bombing around

Just too many thoughts......just little problems that I cant figure out. I think my body quit telling my brain to take a rest at 6am because it wasnt listening :)

1) listen to music

//Tried it....didnt work. I dont think my taste in music is conducive to sleep.

2) sex if available :)

//I wish!! Maybe thats the problem.....:(

3) cars, trains, planes...make sure you are not driving though :eek2: (naps can really help)

//Well I was meant to be on a plane at 4:30 this morning......but that didnt happen for other reasons. Which sucks.....

Georgia, USA. I had a good whine about this on a thread last night so I'll spare you the long story. Short version is: Worked 80+ hours a week for 6 years.....got persuaded to take a trip to see a good friend. Some pen pusher got a bit power crazy and decided to relocate my freind and cancel her time off a couple of days ago. Sucks....but I'll just have to wait until Xmas.....perfect excuse not to be forced into playing happy families....so mebbe its a good thing lol.

As silly as it sounds, my mom always said take an aspirin and about 20 min later you relax and fall asleep. I've looked around and asked at nutrition stores what is the best non-prescription (and legal) sleep aid, and the best answer I've seen to date is chamomile tea.. Melatonin gives me weird dreams for 3 hours and then I'm wide awake again, valarian root smells funny and 5-HTP is mostly helps to even out your seratonin.

MkZK, yeah thats me.....the lighting makes it look better than it is though.

Sassy69 I'll give the Chamomile Tea a shot when I find some.
