How do I do a clean install of windows XP?

Got an old computer and never done it.

I heard it boosts CPU performance.

How do I go about doing it? IN laymen terms not computer geek talk.

each computer is different. use google. you will find the intructions for your computer.

Just put the install cd in and go to town. If it finds previous install of Windows it will offer to use that. You want to delete that partition and create a new one from scratch. If it's old you might do better with Windows 2K.
