Well at least we were smart enough to kick them out of our country in the first place. It takes a "Union" for them to even compete with our economy. Who really cares what their opinion of us is?

I care about the rest of the world. I just dont see why some people put so much faith in the British and European news media as the source for unbiased news.

- Grand history of tearing up the earth through imperalistic ambitions

- Tremendous success on part of US in defeating european tyrannicalism as recent as 50 years ago; responsible for greatest and most heinous crimes against humanity in history.

- Results. Look at them, look at us. Whose system works better?

I selfishly voted for Bush in my own interest. I know my job is secure for at least the next 4 years and with the recent pay increase in my new job I won't be taxed to death.

One item reported on the BBC last night as to why Kerry lost was his giving up his medals in Vietnam and accusing the US of war crimes in the same conflict. People talk about balls and guts but to turn around and to do that - especially in country like the US takes incredible courage - no matter what he said in an effort to get elected I am convinced that he would have been a far safer , more predictable and more benign set of hands for the US and the World.

It's not that the top 1% are the only ones in his tax bracket to save a dime, it's that they save the most so I am using them for an example. Perhaps they save enough to throw their morals out the window and vote for someone who has publicly personified himself (through debate after debate and stupid decision after stupid decision) as a stupid human. that post was predicated on the assumption that Hitler hadn't come along and germany remained shackled by the constrictions of the versailles treaty
it's quite clear that Stalin fully intended to eventually expand west,and then after that I assume his appetite would continue unabated
the US suffered 55,000 KIA in Nam fighting the same foe as WWII Germany in a sense.

In fact if a more moderate leader had rearmed germany and then preemptively attacked the USSR,treated the populace humanely(many of which regarded the Germans as liberators) then Germany's prospects for success would have increased significantly
as it was they came damn close and as you mentioned Stalin may have been saved soley due to the worst winter in the Moscow area in about a 100 years
