Hotel Rwanda: Two Words

it's a damn well made movie.

It's based on the truth though.

Fuck Iraq. This shit was going on and the world IGNORED it.

Romeo Dalaire should have a medal pinned on him for everything he tried to do to call attention to it. Unfortunately his cries fell on apathetic political ears in the G8 countries. The way I understand it is if Romeo had done anything more he, or other soldiers would likely have been killed. Apparently they were undermanned to deal with it and not given licence to do so either.

Genocide never ended with the Nazis, nor any others since. It's STILL going on. I hope that movie brings some attention to that fact.

Your absolutely right. After the Holocaust, The United Nations was created to ensure that another never happened again. The United Nations also tried to make sure every country was treating their citizens with care. Well, in the summer of 1994, the Tutsis were being killed by the Hutus in Rwanda. In 100 days, over 800,000 people were killed. Well, the UN didn't do shit. Clinton sat back with the bad taste of Somalia in his mouth. He didnt do shit. Then after it was over and 800,000 Tutsis were dead, he paid a 3 hour visit to the Rwandan airport and said: Sorry.

That shit wont cut it. The UN didnt do shit for them. There were a couple hundred UN troops in Rwanda before this event occured. Well once the genocide broke out, they were pulled out! The Tutsis seeking refuge in the compound where the troops were that just left were murdered. There was over 1200 of them.

A few months before this happened I think Clinton dedicated the Holocaust Musuem. During that speech he said it should be known that the Holocaust Musuem was a symbol of what should never happen again and that it would remind us what the Holocaust was like. It didn't do shit.

More people were killed faster than in any other genocide. The Hutus dominated the Nazi's in the effectiveness of killing their enemies. The rest of the world sat back and watched.

Now there is another genocide happening in Sudan as we speak. What's been done? Jack shit.

The movie Hotel Rwanda greatly portrays how when the rest of the world was turning away, one man helped them.
