Horror Novels

[Atomic Punk]

I am a huge fan of King. I was going out later after the gym to try to find a good Horror Novel, but other than King(whos last few I have read, were a disapointment) I really don't know of any other good authors of horror, or good novels in general. Could any of you suggest something?

If not, I'll probably just get "The Hobitt" just for something to read. And yes, I know that's not horror btw.

Creature by Saul (?) was a good book. Not necessarily a horror book, but about steroid like changes.

Clive Barker is pretty good. He takes it to a sicker degree than king does I think.

The Keep is about some soldiers trapped in a fortress (castle?) while a supernatural being kills them.

I read it back in '80 when I was about 6 years old. I just remember being so scared when those two soldiers were in the catacombs and being killed... especially the one soldier running that could hear the other one screaming....
