Homemade MRPs??

Hi

I was thinking about MRPs and looking at the ingredients list on most of them and after reading for about an hour i thought how much shit is in this stuff, is it really good for you?

So i was thinking convenience is probably the main reason for having an MRp but if I were to make an MRP myself what would I put into it?
Anyone here make their own MRPs?

I was thinking of blending something like this:

25g Oats
2 Scoops of Whey Protein
cinnamon
Splenda
unsweetened organic Soy Milk

Calorie wise ti's the same as a myoplex but is it as good? (Maybe i can chuck in some egg whites and a vitamin pill?)

What do u guys think? or do u guys have ur own super dooper recipes?

You should try the Prolab Lean Mass Matrix Cinnamon flavor. It has 40 grams of Protein and 40 grams of Carbs. The carbs are primarily whole grain source. No Maltodextrin or aspartame. Definately tastes great, check it out. As far as your MRP. Looks pretty good, and almost exactly like what is in the Lean Mass Matrix MRP.

I made it yesterday
it took me 5 minutes and i added a touch of xanthan gum to thicken it a bit
it had the consistency of myoplex and tasted great but to be honest apart from not having the same amount of crap as myoplex it probably cost only slightly cheaper since adding two sccops of whey to it to get it upto 40g of protein worked about 20-30 pence cheaper than an MRP

but i know I won't be buying MRPs again (maybe just a box for emergency :D )

your home made mrp is basically what I eat for breakfast every morning....minus the soy milk.

why bother paying tons of money for a mrp when you can make decent food almost as quick....probably tastes better too.

I keep a big can of instant oats at work, and some protein, as well as at home...

maybe get some egg protein powder, or casein for a slower digesting protein that would be more like eating a meal instead of the quick acting whey.....

take a vitamin, add some flax maybe.....

If you're replacing an actual meal (i.e., not post-workout), you should use slower-digesting protein and make sure to have some fat and fiber in there.

Most of the time, I just eat food, but in the morning, I put a banana, some pineapple, some OJ, some 1% milk, and some whey protein (it's what I have atm...when it's gone, I'll use casein and egg powder) in my blender. I take my vitamins and some flax oil capsules with it.

The oats sound like a good idea, but seems like it would be hard to drink?

I always blend oatmeal - 1 cup soy or fat free milk, 1 banana, glutamine, egg protein powder, bovine serum and 1 scoop of protein powder - blend it - very smooth and tastes really good.
