Got about 4 pounds of pork shoulder. Trimmed off the fat and put it in the slow cooker this morning.

Damn this is tasty.

How does that affect the meat? The meat and the filth that the pigs wallow in are separated by an integument of SKIN. If the animal's insides weren't perfectly clean, it would die from sepsis.
