on Discovery right now......it's about a group of guys climbing up/down Everest and while walking down come upon a guy who's semi-conscious laying in the snow under a rock, but since they are at 25,000+ feet they can't do anything for him & have to leave him there......

I just can't imagine having to do that......but they said it'd take 20 guys to rescue that guy and the ones coming down are all screwed up themselves.....but still having to leave someone to die there.....wow...
 
i would try to climb everest if i had the 60k for permits and gear and sherpas and shit and if i was in shape meaning high altuide trianing
 
Well some joke, Truth is i am a Marine and i hate saving stupid people. Stay at the bottom of the hill in the lodge with your girl and snuggle. Climbing up there until your nose falls off from frostbite is lunacy.

Well the guy who works Eversest said they see guys dying on the mtn. all the time.....it's very common.....

Now as for the rescue out in the US - I heard on the radio today the Military uses the rescues as training........

Now if you go out of bounds on a ski area & have to be rescued - you gots to pay for it.....It WILL cost you....
 
Dang they just showed a guys feet & hands & they are literally black due to frostbite.......owwwww!
 
Told ya, if it were me, i would be in the lodge with a hot women in a hot tub. Not out there chopping my own foot off to save my leg!

yeah really.......the woods are just as dark and cold as they were 100 years ago.....now where's my hot toddy?

Awesome

Been a few years since I lost the traditional thick chunk of skin from the tips of my big toes. Circulation must be improving. Actually...truth is....less adventure.

I will not forget the purple fingers and subsequent loss of tissue. Didn't have to do any schoolwork for a week.
