Considering i live in edmonton and have season tickets .. i'd have to say the oilers

These playoffs are going to make me broke !! season ticket holders get first crack at there seats for playoffs ... gets expensive after a while :)

I have'nt missed a game all year ...

Damn .... that was a nail biter last night !!!

Kinda a feel out game ... second one should be a bit intresting considering our #1 goaltender is done :(

Remember the oil dropped the first 2 games to the sharks and came back , this series is far from over or decided . Last night showed 2 pretty even matched teams , it's going to come down to lucky bounces and shit- ass ref-ing to decide .

Short hands goals piss me off .... you can call just about any hit a penalty if you want .. charging , roughing , boarding , tripping , interferance . Any one of those apply to just about any hit , it's all in the ref's eyes and vantage point .

Those delay of game calls for shooting the puck over the boards is bullshit ... just look at how many games were won in this playoff's off penalties called for delay of game where the winner was scored because the other team was short handed ...

Why not call icing delay of game ?? it's the same thing if you beleive the player is shooting the puck over the boards because his team is in trouble .... 98% of the time it's accidental , what a bullshit rule
 
yes the reffing has been ass-hat but at least we are watching hockey and not idiots fighting

game two should be good
both teams are pretty well matched
the oilers are abit more physical but the canes are just as fast and the oilers are used to being able to outskate the other team
goalie was and still is the deciding factor
although ryan smith should not have played defense the way he did
but it wouldn't have been that way if burgeron did not crash ladd into roloson

This is not an excuse as both teams have to deal with it " but " the ice in carolina as with any southern rink or sea level rink sucks ... ( soft and slow )

The sharks commented on this exact point when they came to edmonton for games 3 and 4 .... the oilers where flying and both the ducks and sharks had a hard time maintaining the speed of a wide open style of game .

Carolina has not played in edmonton this year .... wait till they get aload of the loudest fans and fastest ice surface . If nothing else this is going to be an entertaining run for the cup .
 
They need to adopt the same revenue sharing arangement the NFL uses ....

Without it teams like green bay would not exist ... the NHL could take a few pointers on how they run the NFL .

last night, i got into a little arguments with Jason and Terence about how I am not cheering for "Canada's Team".

Just because Edmonton is the last Canadian team left in the playoffs doesn't mean it's carved in stone that I have to cheer for them. It also means that YOU DON'T EITHER! I've never seen so much Oilers apperal worn in Toronto in my entire life

Ray whitney lived next door to me for years , his dad floyd was a practice goaltender for the oilers . I use to play road hockey with ray and his brother when they were still in high school .
If you watch re-play tapes of the oilers cup run in the 80's and look on the bench you'll see ray , he was a stick boy for the oilers back then .

Ron lowe traded ray for a player out of winnipeg who was the son of a friend of his .. had nothing to do with talent swaping , ray is still pissed about it and thats why he has nothing positive to say about edmonton during interviews .

Another one you missed on your above list is Mike Commador #22 defence , the dude with the big red mullit . His mom was one of my high school teachers . I see mike at the bar and around town alot during the off season .

I thought the oil looked flat and unorganized , lucky to take the win

WTF is wrong with these guys ?? If they played the same game that they played against the ducks and sharks we would be looking at a 3-0 lead in this series .

The oil is playing the canes game not there own ... hit these tiny fuckers !!! I've olny seen one or two decent checks in the 3 games , whats going on ???

Well cane fans .... It's looking like the cup is coming down south and you guys deserve the wins .

Oilers have been sucking on the PP and even worse on the PK .... i really thought they were mature enough to hold it together but i was wrong , the mistakes i watched last night were minor hockey stuff .

I never use the refing as an excuse and i won't start now " but " WTF is going on out there ??? The canes got the shaft in the first period with some real shit calls against them ... the second period they pretty much let them play .. the begining of the third was anything goes for awhile .. then with 4 minutes left smith gets a hooking call that was so lame it's not even funny .

My point is ... how are these guys suppose to know what the rules are when the ref keeps changing how he's calling the game ... in the third the canes could have had a half dozen hitting from behind or boarding calls that were ignored and then smith gets that bullshit hooking call to pretty much fuck any oilers comeback attempt late in the game ..

Something has to change ... you need to call it all or call nothing .

3-1 is a tough road to hoe ..... i'd be very surprised if they dug there way out of this one , happy but suprised .

Hasn't been done since 1948 (or was it 1942?), Leafs overcame a 3-0 series to win the cup.

I'd be happier than hell if that stat changed ;)

everyone goes through phases
staal led the playoffs in scoring but hasn't done much lately
still hockey is a team sport
refs aside it's been a great series
i hate seeing the same old same old play all the time
 
Looks like i'll be taking my last trip for the season to rexall place on saturday night ...

Now last nights game reminded me of the series with the sharks ( injuries ) Damn there were alot of canes heading off to the dressing room for some TLC ... We likes playing a team thats hurting :) .....

Torres should have been tested for coke after the game ... fuck was that boy flying and hitting everything and anything he could .

Regardless of which team you cheering for ... we've seen some pretty decent hockey in the past week , imagine how this series would have went if rolly the goalie had never been injured in game 1 ... ?????

Intresting how kelly hrudy mentioned last night that this series was the first time the canes have had to deal with a time zone issue and how it's possibly effecting there game ... the oil have delt with time zone issues for the whole playoffs .

The reffing was another head scratcher again last night .... some of those penelties were pretty frickin weak calls
 
As a life long Oilers fan, I still don't think they can pull off 3 straight. The Canes were running the entire 3rd period last night. I can't see Edmonton holding off that pressure for 2 more games. I hope they do it. It would be miraculous. Still some great fkn hockey though. Nothing beats post season hockey when it comes to action.

The old remote control is getting a real workout this time of year ... every channel seem to have a different sporting event worth watching ..

The soccer is cool ..... I use to love watching those crazy ass fans in the UK riot in the bleachers after a game ,remember when they were throwing darts in the stands !!! crazy shit !! talk about diehards . Attack dogs chained up at all four corners of the field , gaurds with rifles ... shit is like " Welcome the the Thunderdome " LOL Now thats a sporting event :)

It's crazy shit. It's labeled as the "poor man's game" in Europe. So if your pissed off, broke, and need to kick someones ass, you go to a match. I think the elites play polo and smell thier own farts. I'd rather opt for soccer.

It's too bad the World Cup is only every 4 years...that would be amazing to take in a game. We always rant and rave how loud the Coliseum is, I can only imagine how loud some of those massive stadiums are...
 
Wooooooo damn straight my Oil cleaned house last night! Now the Canes are going back to NC to lose the cup in their home town!! I didn't get to see the game since I was working a MMA event, so the highlights had to do :)

Why the HELL didn't they play like that earlier?!?!

Even though the oilers are not playing at home , i'm still going to rexall place tonight to watch the game on the giant big screens ... it's like $5.00 a ticket .

Good luck to both sides ... should be an outstanding game if your a hockey fan regardless of the outcome .
