Hitting a vein - some questions!

Hey guys, I have a few questions about jabbing a vein. I think I've done it twice in the past 8 weeks. Now the kicker is, that I asperate ALL THE TIME - I have only had blood enter the pin once - and I pulled out/changed pins and started over. ALso, when I'm pushing the oil in, I try to hold the pin nice and steady (so as not to move into a vein AFTER asperating), although there is some movement that is inevitable. The 2 times that "I think" I may have hit a vein, I got REALLY sick feeling. I was sweating all over my body, felt like I was going to puke - just felt like ass. This feeling hits me about a minute after the inject.. and last maybe for 5~10 minutes or so (hard to tell, time seems to go slower when I feel this shitty). After I pulled the pins out, there was no "gushing blood" on either time, although I did notice that as I was pulling the pin out this last time, a small amount of blood DID enter the tip of the pin (NOT gushing though). Also - it happened TWICE on the same side quad?? Here are my questions (Karma for good answers):

1. How bad is it to hit a vein? I think I've done it 2 times - will this make me more prone to heart attack now? Medically what should I be concerned with?

2. Did I really hit a vein? If so - how? I asperated... is it possible that I hit a vein on the way out, and maybe a few drops of oil got in the vein - or do you think that I hit her head on??

3. How can I keep from doing this in the future - it scares the shit out of me, and REALLY feels shitty.

Thanks guys - if I can keep from doing this ever again, that will be GREAT advice!

well, to answer your questions as best as I can based on what i know:

Its not as bad as you think hitting a vein, like you said, if there's blood going in the syringe then pull out and go back in. Always aspirate! Its ok, a few drops of oil in the vein wont kill you nor will a small amount of air (but you may feel queasy), but if its done properly then this wont happen (obviously).
Hitting veins wont give you a heart attack.
To avoid hitting veins, depending on which part of the body you inject, you can see surface veins which you can avoid, when you do hit veins its normally head on, you will bruise when you hit veins or blood vessels (this is normal).
Hitting veins is not something you can avoid, thats why we aspirate, but like I said avoid surface veins which you can see to minimize bruising and the like!

The more injections you do, the better you'll get, you will acustom to it and improve! Personally I'd be more concerned with infection than hitting veins!! Just make sure you disinfect and do all necessary procedures then you'll be fine.

Medically, you should be concerned with what gear you use and side effects and post cycle recovery, check your BP and get blood work done to be safe when using AS.

I hope this puts your mind at ease abit.

You would have to hit a substancial sized vein to kill yourself. You could be hitting small superficial veins or going through them. When you aspirate, if you get blood coming in right away then you should pull out. Really, the Glutes are the best place as they have very little amount of nerves as well. Stay away from the medial glutes (inner glutes) since you could hit the sciatic nerve. Keep to the outer glutes (lateral or sides more).

Never inject in the medial thighs (inner thighs) - you have a Femoral Artery, Superficial Femoral Artery and SF Veins here. Thigh injects should be lateral (on the outside of your leg - hence right side of your thigh if on your right) and mid-upper.

Calves have a 4-5 major arteries and veins on the inside of the calves. Just never inject on the inner calves or thighs.

Also, never try to inject more than about 1 - 1.5 cc at any one site. This will lessen the after effects of a small hematoma or "knot". It is best to get in the shower afterwards and run warm - hot water on the area and massage it with my hand.

Let me know if I can answer any more questions.

if you follow the directions from sites like spotinjection.com you will not hit a vein large enough to kill yourself.

as for hitting a vein,it sucks but you will live,I hit one in my Bicep once and felt like hell all damn day.but I made it

Yes, make sure you massage it with Geoff's hand, not your own. This is very important.

Well, what else am I supposed to post?! Geoff pretty much covered everything else!!! :p

Don’t worry. The puke queasy feeling was actually a panic attack about to happen because you were freaked. I used to get that when I first started shooting.

If you go in and aspirate, get a spurt of blood just pull out and wipe down. You may start pissing blood but it will stop. Just apply pressure and expect a bruise the next day. You can get the same thing when you pass through a vein and even successfully inject.

If you inject into a vein you’ll know it. Light headed feeling and couching your ass off until the oil dissipates a little.
