young man has apparently been shot in the parking lot of a school in Brampton.

The victim, believed to be in his late teens, was struck in the Williams Parkway and Bramalea Rd. area just after 8am Wednesday.

Few further details are available at this point, but the teen is expected to recover.

The school is currently in lockdown.

There’s no word yet on suspects.

Gang related crime most likely. Happens every month in Montreal so we dont make a big deal out of it...

well i don't read the paper much damnit.. u guys gotta fill me in

member we call the army ion to shovel snow

Shit school shootings are bad. But a kid in Richmond ran over a couple resulting because he was jealous of them. Killed them both.

Don't forget about that mini-riot over the iBooks too.

there was a shooting in a TN school yesterday too
killed an assistant principal and wounded a principal and another assistant principal

They should slowly and painfully kill the kids that do shit like that.
I would hire a couple hundred gay hit men to bang them up the ass till they died.
I would video tape it and send it to at risk teens.
That would stop most crimes.
I would also have a sign up sheet just incase any gay kids thought they would like to be on the receiving end. That way they wouldn't have to contemplate a school shooting to get that.
I think I have it all covered here.

kids are not disciplined properly and the end up as costly scum to the society. A slap on the wrist is all they get.

My little brother ended up in the emergency room few months ago because he was mistaken for a gang member in school! Thank God they didn't kill him. The kids are still free and doing what they want.

You just gotta love Richmond.

My high school had more security than the airports did prior to 9/11. Yep, in 1993 I went through 2 metal detectors, bags went through a scan, I.D. check, and if I got lucky when I stepped on the mat . . . the light turned green and the security guards went through my bag with their hands.

no matter how common a school shooting is, it is still tragic. no matter the reason it is senseless. it sadens me each and everytime i hear about one. we had one in my junior high back in 1988. kid came in wearing cami's and a semi-automatic rifle. shot his history teacher then held the class hostage for a few hours. then he killed himself after shooting 2 classmates he didnt like. i heard the gun shots and everything.

dont get me started on the shooting at the mcdonalds i worked at in 1991. ive seen a lot of shit a teen should never have to. it is my job as a father to ensure my son does not go through what i went through growing up. thats why i joined the navy at age 17.

yes it was. and there were many more. ever had a 9mm gun to your head? all because i looked tough and they didnt like it. i will never raise my son in new york. the mcdonalds shooting was because of me but i wasnt involved. they raised hell in the lobby calling me a wigger because i had a fade haircut. the girl i worked with (who was black) stood up for me. 3 against 1 i aint saying shit. but her boyfriend and his friends were in the lobby eating. they didn't like how these other guys were talking to his girl. so they went outside to wait for them. thats when i heard the shotgun shots. i thought they w re throwing rocks at the window so my dumb ass runs outside. well, the 3 guys that started it shot the boyfriend and his friends. i got out there just to see the last shot fired and the guys stomach rip apart and intestines hanging out. i had the hold a wet rag on him and hold his intestines in his stomach. blood was freegin everywhere.

i was only 15.

My friend teaches at that school. He was pretty shaken up.

Yes. I was 14.

I have a different opinion about raising kids in NYC. I wouldn't hesitate to do it. Would I raise them where I grew up? Likely, not. But there is a whole other side to that hard city. There is beauty there. When you escape the neighborhood you are from to experience it, there is nothing like it.

This was in Bramladesh the burbs not Toronto. It is part of the GTA but not part of Toronto the city. Just another reason why the burbs suck especially Brampton.

Like the high-crime jane/finch's and scarborough project areas are any better.

Yeah I do. It seems as though the crime around here is getting much more brutal. A 16 year old shot a police officer in the head.

Wow. Up here its still pretty calm. Some latino gang issues, but they are keeping pretty good control over it.

Richmond can be so much more.

The burbs are just fine. Mississauga and Brampton are good places to live, expanding like mad mind you.

The worst parts are simply north Etobicoke and a few areas of Scarborough.

Jane and Finch is North York and Scarborough is just that also a burb IMO even amalgamated or whatever these area’s have always been and will continue to be a problem. Unless they really get tough on crime here some of the gang invitees are just laughable. Regardless I would much rather live here then in the US. I got lost in Cleveland Ohio on the way to the Arnold last year in an area that I can best describe as ghetto. I was far more scared in this area then I have EVER been in any part of Toronto. I used to bike through James town in the summer when I was close enough to bike to work without any fear.

It's easy to be safe in the US. Stay out of predominantly black and hispanic areas. Do that and you're safer than any Canadian city you can think of. Look up the crime stats.

Try living in an East LA projects where there are four major gangs under one housing project fighting for the same gang territory.....The Maravilla projects out here are just insane...Nobody cares who they shoot..If you kill one of them they'll kill your little brother....It's pretty bad out here

All the white people have moved out. If someone still decides to live there as opposed to all the other places in the country -- they shouldn't complain.

:lmao: I know the crime stats of Toronto and they do not even come close to even the smallerst US city per capita.

I wuold expect this time of thing in winnipeg.. but not TO!

Sometimes lack of money decides for you..and more like pray rather than complain.

Newport Beach. Very white. Very middle-class and safe. 1 murder. 70,000 people. You can move here and run around the city at night as much as you want dear. :)

Oh, and unlike Canada, we actually put people in jail for crimes! None of this "conditional sentencing" crap.

Toronto polulation 4,558,800 average murder rate per year 60-70.I am prefectly happy with the diversity of my city. As for my neighbourhood I can come and go as please on my own. Some area's of the city not so but rarely in crap area's on my own at all hours of the day. I think I will stay :qt:

Canada's crime rate is spread out evenly across the board. In the states, it's concentrated in key areas.

It's very easy to live here in certain cities and be much safer than in Canada. Living in Newport Beach is 10x safer than Scarborough or Brampton.

The two countries are nowhere near being the same. I'd rather live in a city with bad-ass cops with zero tolerance for anything (middle/upper-class suburbs) than cities with smiley happy cops, laughable justice systems and rising violent crimes (toronto this year).

You'll get much better justice as a rape victim in orange county, than ontario. Now if you want to say "Toronto is safer than south central la" -- well suit yourself. I could also say South Central la is better than Baghdad. :)

All that aside -- you still need to bring yo booty down here woman! :)

Why go there when we are both in same city every year at Christmas visiting family? Or I could show up to your next class reunion :qt:

Scarborough is not "the burbs" like Mississauga or Brampton or Richmond Hill etc. Sure Scarborough is heavily residential, but it is still part of Toronto (the GTA is Etobicoke, North York, York, Scarborough, and downtown... anything outside of this is not Toronto). Besides, the subway line does end in Scarborough, and then you've also got the DVP.

You used to bike through Jamestown??? I used to live in Jamestown a long ass time ago during my childhood. John Garland Blvd. baby!! Will never forget that place. Shit who knows maybe we know each other lol. What high school did you go to?

Traffic is bad even in the burbs, but not nearly as bad as in Toronto hands down. Better thing about the burbs is more space at least.

Not from Toronto orginally. I lived in Rexdale when I first moved here 7 years ago for college I went to Humber. Then I lived in Woodbridge and that is when I would bike to work up Martin Grove. No fear most cause it was like 7 am don't think drive byes happen that early.

Yeah but your missing my point. To go any place in the city I don't need to drive. Subway is a 2 minute walk from my house. Grocery store 5 minute walk and there is a ton of bars and resturants in my hood. I hate driving. If I had a job on the Subway line I would get rid of my car.

I know that area like the back of my hand. Grew up in those parts. You go to Monsignour Johnson? North Albion Collegiate? FHC?

I moved to Toronto after HS darling. I worked at the Woodbine Centre though 5 years ago for over a year. If you were still in the area then good chance we have crossed paths. It is funny what a small world it truly is :)

We probably did cross paths then because I'm still somewhat in that area. Go to Woodbine Centre fairly frequently to take the nephews to Fantasy Fair. It's also where I pick up my dextrose from Bulk Barn. I also pass Humber College all the time. Small world indeed. Did you ever train at Monster Gym (now Fitness 365)?

OMG not in a while but I work in the area you train there? I been thinking about make a change Bally's is so gay but I do like some of the :rainbow: comforts of the gym. LOL 365 is not as hardcore now as it was when it was monster.
