hi-fi peeps - dvd recorders?

are these worth it yet, or is it too soon to get one?

i was thinking of getting one that has 160gbs hard disk.

any experience, or should i get a plain old dvd player?

I don't know anything about them but people tend to like the recording devices like Tivo and similar products. They can't live without them, it seems. So my conclusion would be to get it if you can.

What are your intentions for use with this recorder? How will you use it and for what? There may be other options.

Sam's Club has one for $140. That's seems like a good deal to me. I know it shouldn't be much more at Walmart if you don't have a Sam's Club card.

well we don't have tivo in norway yet...the recorder is great as you can do tivo functions, as well as burning an old video to dvd...

but they certainly cost more than 100$ that razor mentioned...

i heard that microsoft will relase a similiar product soon
