after taking some advice from here i have recently bought some protein powder but it isnt whey it is soys lechitin is this ok for building muscle......

it is from holland and barratt and is 90% protein.....

is it good or total shit......

I've heard/read that soy protein is kind of weak. I don't have any links or sources to back that up, so I might just be lying.

just coz.....

just coz it says on the from 90% protein........

i suppose it could be shit protein.......

anyone else want to confirm this or anyother views on soya lechithin protein powder from holland and barratt:confused:

come on there is bound to be some people who know about this stuff

I don't like to eat soy protein. I have heard about it having negative affects and lowering testosterone levels. I read a lot of John Berardi articles and he does not recommend it...
(read this one : http://www.johnberardi.com/articles/nutrition/proroundtable.htm )

Instead of soy I would go to www.ProteinFactory.com and purchase an egg/casein mixture to take during the day. I would also visit www.allthewhey.com to purchase some of there whey ISOLATE to take post workout...

egg/casein digest slow and are great to take during the day to keep a constant flow of aminos in your system... Whey protein is great to take post workout with dextrose or Maltodextrin because it breaks down quick and will help the muscles you just tore down in the workout start the repair process... I try and eat some type of protein every 3 hours and only eat the whey after a weight workout (it is expensive).. I also tend to alternate whole food with shakes. I try and get about 50% of my calories from protein....

I hope this helps....

OK THEN

i was talking to some other people from the gym they said try egg whites and milk, banana and a pinch of salt............

what do you think of this.......

is it better than soya lechithin??

That is definitely better than soy... Beware, Milk has alot of sugar in it.. It is great post workout but you are not going to need it during the day. Egg whites are a great source of protien.. If you are trying to bulk up the bannana wont hurt.. If you are cutting - i would avoid sugar... Not sure why they want you to add the salt...

I THINK

I THINK THAT THEY SAID SALT AIDS THE BODY IN, ALLOWING IT TO LET NUTRIENTS PASS THROUGH THE BLOOD STREAM EASIER OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT......

DONT KNOW IF THIS IS TRUE  YOU ONLY USE A PINCH OF SALT....

SO ALL IN ALL THE SHAKE IS BETTER THAN THE PROTEIN POWDER.....

BUT NOT AS GOOD AS WHEY PROTEIN????

THAT TRUE......

LASTLY IF ANYONE LOOKS AT MY POST FURTHER DOWN YOU WILL SEE ALL THE NUTRITIONAL INFO FOR THE SOYA LECITHIN.......

IF ANYONE ON THAT POST WOULD LIKE TO POST WHEY PROTEIN INFO SO I CAN COMPARE>>>

THANKS

:destroy: :fro: :sperm:

RIGHT

THATS IT THEN AM NOT USIN THAT STUFF NO MORESO ITS WHEY ALL THE WAY THEN!!!

THANKS (I COULD HAVE BIN USING THAT ALL THE TIME WITHOUT KNOWING THE EFFECTS THANKS):D
