there was some debate concerning HGH & its use.i posted this thread to show the pro's & con's.hope it helps & maby clarify some issues w/HGH

The dietary-supplement market has promoted the use of supplements that are intended to increase levels of naturally occurring human growth hormone (hGH). These supplements are produced from a variety of plant and animal sources, but are not hGH itself. None have been demonstrated to work over extended periods, although some, like creatine, have been shown to increase hGH levels briefly.

Human growth hormone is produced in the pituitary gland and is one of the hormones responsible for normal growth during childhood and puberty. HGH levels tend to increase at puberty, peak around age 21 and then slowly decline. At age 60, hGH levels are virtually nonexistent. Synthetically produced hGH is most commonly used to improve the growth of children who have very short stature. It does not increase height in adults, because adults' bones can no longer grow after puberty. HGH is destroyed if taken orally, so it must be administered by injection. HGH previously was obtained from the pituitary glands of cadavers. Unfortunately, many children treated with this human-derived hGH developed Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (a disease sometimes linked to mad cow disease). Today, human growth hormone is produced by bacteria using genetic engineering methods.

As we age, we produce less and less hGH. Administration of hGH to older men has been shown to increase muscle mass with exercise. But the increase is not without risk. Excessive amounts of hGH can produce a condition known as acromegaly, in which the skull, jaw, hands and feet become abnormally enlarged. HGH also can cause high blood sugar and depress normal thyroid function. A number of other hormones have been shown to increase hGH levels in people with normal and low levels. These include insulin growth factor (IGF) and others.

There is one all-natural way to increase growth-hormone levels: Exercise. Routine vigorous exercise has been shown to increase levels of hGH significantly.

I only know of one or two HGH ,and that is Somatropin (upjohn) and Humantrope( Lilly) . The rest I feel are GH factors . I am on Somatropin ,but the little amount that feeds the kitty compared to others . Its doing its job though,I'm losing bodyfat and gaining muscle and for someone thats 51 years old thats comforting to know. I'm 5' 8", 192 # and 12% bodyfat. And I don't do Cardio, it sucks. Oh, one other benefit :horny:
