okay.

every time i try to get a file I deleted in my norton protected recycle bun, it keeps restarting due to disk write

the same damn thing happens when i try to run scan disk too.

so i ran some norton thing, (noton doctor- or something) and it checks my registry , and says theres a severe problem, in the misc category. when it goes to fix it, it never fixes it and goes on forever.

any clue as to what is wrong, or what i can do

sounds like it's time to reinstall windows,
but defragmenting it with diskeeper(download.com) will prolly fix the problems you have right now.

run it in safe mode, or make sure all background programs are closed.

If the registry editor can't fix it, then you can always go back to an eariler restore point.

This might help or try safe mode.

You probably have some diskmonitoring program running in the background. Try to temporarely stop any anti-virus and/or firewall program before opening the recycle bin. If the problem is still present, press Alt-Control-Del and check and close any program you might think still could cause the blocking. Do not close Explorer or Systray. Hope this will help.
