Hey Y-lifter! You Ok?

The hurricane hit pretty bad in his area. Parts of Orlando is still without electricity.

Thanks for the concern but there are many people much worse off than me..
I just made it into work and we have power here and all is pretty much OK except for lots and lots of trees down...
The path I posted up with Chuckie coming right thru Central Fl was spot on...
The Eye wall area and 80+ MPH winds sustained with gusts to 110 came pretty much right over our area about 8-9 PM Friday.
We lost power at the house right in the middle of it and it just came on late last night(Sunday)
Phone is still down and Cell coverage is pretty much spotty or non existant.
GAS is hard to find as is Ice and many of the street lights are still out..
All we had for damage was loss of electric/phone and several wooden fence panels that blew over and I just nailed them back up.. Lost a few items in the fridge as power was out Fri - Sun night. Our well stocked freezer that is Unopened lasted very well..

Problem is most of the utilities are on poles vs underground and there
are lots and lots of huge trees like 5 ft from them..
Lots and Lots of these Trees came down on the lines and on property.

Yea..
They said Saturday that it would me about 5 days to get power back up to most of the area..
Today they said 5-7 more days.. It's all due to the trees coming down..

If you have much property of your own, get as many downed trees as you can off of it. Several years down the road they dry out and become instant fire hazards. Had it happen around here with Hurricane Hugo and different ice storms. Turned into a tinder box around here and still to this day, there are many trees still downed lying around. A lot of the forests around here are just waiting to burn given the right circumstances.
