Hey Seashell!!! or other Canadians

it's the region on toronto's north side. Maybe 20-25 minutes average drive from, uh, the CN tower? Still part of the GTA (greater toronto area).
 
Markham is technically not part of Toronto, just like Mississauga is not considered Toronto. They are both cities of their own directly outside on the outskirts of Toronto, just as is Brampton, Richmond Hill, Pickering, etc. Toronto (or the GTA... Greater Toronto Area) is comprised of 5 suburbs: Etobicoke, York, North York, Scarborough, and the downtown core (downtown Toronto).

Markham is on the north east side of Toronto. Technically it is minutes or even seconds from Toronto, depending on where you are in Markham. Markham to downtown Toronto (lets say to the CN Tower) can take you anywhere from 20 minutes to well over an hour, depending entirely on traffic.

So in essence -- you've described half of the US's big cities too. :)

White people aren't procreating. Immigrants are. Immigrant women pop out 3 kids by 30. White women are still playing the attention whore game by 30. That's the cause.
 
About a 20 or 30 minute drive, depending on traffic and where in Markham you're going.

LOL @ the Asian thing. Depends on which part of Markham, though - some of the newer sub-divisions have a very high Asian population.
 
yea like everyone said, 30 minutes up the DVP will get you there

markham is the funniest place though because its got such a rich asian population... i used to date a girl there (she wasnt asian) and it wasnt uncommon to see all these high end porsches and bmw's with tinted windows, and they'd be stalling all over the place... then you'd get a better look and they were always young asian kids lol
