Whats up with your truck? I looked over that thread last night.. but I forgot what kind of truck you have?

I know you want the locking diff. but if your truck is 4WD.. it should have it.

WODIN< you are the man now dawg! Thanks

Dballer, I have a 2000 F-150, and the guy at the 4x4 place by me told me that I have a locking differential in the rear, but not in the front. He said if I installedone, it would be like having the closest thing to positrack transmition.
Does that make sense?

I have been thingking about getting a Tacoma (older model) with a locker in the front, they are the shit. Highest ground clearance too, it's like they come with a 3 inch suspension lift when compared to anything else, execpt a Hummer

Don't do that!!!
I had a Tacoma (2000) before the ZR2.. and it was underpowered.

I do not understand what this guy means.. there is no such thing as a posi-trac transmission. What posi-trac means is that both wheels will spin by force of the motor. The transmission has nothing to do with that.

Now.. what I think he meant to say was with a locking style differential in the front you will have a dedicated 4WD while the hubs are locked.

If you want to use the locking style diff. I would look for a pre 1981 model F-150 or F-100.

But to be perfectly honest.. I really do not think it will make a diffrence. I think the guy was trying to sell you somthing.

sweet!!!!!!!!!, you just saved me like a 700 hundred dollars. You are the shit bro, actually now I'm gonna buy the brush gaurd that I have been anting, but I told myself that I have to buy things that will enhance the performance befroe I buy any cosmetic enhancer for my ebony beauty. But if you are right, and I'm sure you are, cuz the guy couldn't really explain it in detail whenI asked him to, then I will have a kick ass truck in about 2 more weeks.

Thanks for the info, I'm gonna try and send you some karma, I hope that it works.
Peace out

get a performance chip and some flowmasters... that will pep it up.. also a K&N Air Filter.

I cannot believe someone told you that you would have a posi-trac transmission.. why can't I ever run into some fucker trying to bullshit me about cars??

I have already done all that, like I said I wanted to enhance performance, so I did all that after I had my suspension lift. Then that idiot was tring to convince me to get posi-track, when it can't even be done. I guess I was just so exited on the thought, so I wanted to run with it.
But my K&N air filter was the coolest thing, I could actually tell a difference, I would have never imagined that an air filter could do soooooooo much.
