Sounds to me like they're FINALLY trying to give someone new some credibility. No one from the WCW/ECW side has one a clean match since the beginning. However, bear in mind this was a handicap match, so Austin doesn't completely lose his status.
I dunno, I'm really just bored with the whole thing right now. Flair/McMahon is marginally interesting. I'm looking forward to Triple H's return, but I really think the roster is just way too heavy with talent right now, and they need to split the company.
Personally, I'd like to see 4 shows a week again. Yeah, it's a lot, but 2 shows a week isn't enough, IMHO. They've talked about splitting the roster into 2 divisions, like the AL/NL thing in baseball, and using WrestleMania like a World Series. So you'd still have Raw and Smackdown, but each division would appear in one show.
I'd much rather see WWF and WCW operate separately, with their own storylines and PPV's, and then have the occasional "defection" to keep things interesting.
I was really looking forward to a Kurt Angle/Lance Storm feud since Storm used a pro Canada angle at one point, and Kurt's the "olympic hero". Too bad they haven't used it.
