Doesn't look like much is happening with the Penguins but there was rumour that a sun belt team was in contact with some people in our city.
The new arean is actually being built for the Moose believe it or not. Not sure why as the AHL is a joke.
There is no way a NHL team is coming here under the current CBA, no matter what the dreamers say, this city just can't afford it.
Sure it would fly for the first year or two but once the honeymoon period wears off people would stop paying 80-100 bucks per game.
If there is a big change in the CBA with a cap or some type of fiscal restrictions then I could see them back here in the next 3-5 years.
Attendance here was always around 13,000 a game,even in the worst years which is a helluva lot better then 50% of the teams now.
