taking GABA orally actually won't pass the blood/brain barrier readily, which means you have to take more of it - it will then get converted inside of you to GHB, and then that will easily pass the barrier, then on the other side, gets converted to GABA.
both GHB and alcohol increase the GABA production, which is why they have very similar sensations that they produce when injested.
back to butyric acid - it is the main chemical that insects that prey on mammals use to track them.
