well are you even running a popup blocker?
If so and still having issues, you need to use your hosts file to block the ad url's. If youre on Xp its in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
right click it and select properties. Look at the bottom of the box and make sure the read only box is not checked. Then double click to open it and select to open it with notepad. Then what you wanna do here is first, go to the popup, and right click in the middle of it and select properties. The box will come up, and you'll see its URL. Copy the url from the www part on up to and highlighting the .net or .com, and nothing after it. Then this is what you do. In the hosts file, make it look something like this:
127.0.0.1 localhost
0.0.0.0 images.trafficmp.com#
0.0.0.0 sandboxer.com#
0.0.0.0 jbigpops.cjt1.net#
0.0.0.0 bannerfarm.ace.advertising.com#
0.0.0.0 mojoworks.mediaplex.com #
0.0.0.0 mojoworks.snv.mediaplex.com #
yes the 0's are supposed to be 0's. type it all in under the localhost entry. Then save the file. it may tell you it can't create the file, if it does, just make sure you type in "hosts" with the quotes when it asks what you want to save the file as.
also, if you go to internet explorer options in the security/restricted sites area, you can put in domains in there to block crap from. Good thing abuot it is you can sue wildcards also, where int he hosts file you cant. Wildcards are these: *.advertising.com
the *. is the wildcard. This means that any page from advertising.com will get blocked. In the host file, you would actually have to add in for example ads1.advertising.com, ads2.advertising.com...
Sometimes however the restricted sites technique won't let yu add in the site sayingt hat it's already entered in another zone, but I think it's a bug.
