I ordered a bottle of pure r-ala powder and i'm not real sure on how to measure it.... I have capsules and a capsule maker....My caps are 00. Does anyone know about how many mgs are in a 00 cap? Or a good way to measure this stuff?
The bottle says R-ALA 250mg
The bottle contains 50 grams of USP Grade Powder..
Thanks Guys,

1. R-ALA 250mg=how many grams of USP Grade Powder??
As if it's not a 1:1 ratio then you have fillers/addatives in your
powder, as this shouldn't be ie. 1gm of powder should=1gm of
R-ALA.Find this info out in order to capsulate your powder
effectively.
2. Get yourself a scale if you dont already have one.Decent ones
on line for $200.00 and less.
3. See if you can get a number 1-4, cap size as the#00 holds
aprox.670mg which requires a fair amount of filler ie.lactose or
dextrose to add to the 100mg of r-ala, as this is the most
convenient dose. Unless you want to make 300mg ones and
take one 2x daily.
So....let's assume your cap. maker can make 100@a time and you're using a#1 cap.which holds 340mg.of powder. You would weigh out your total amount for r-ala@100mg dose=10gms. of powder, then you would weigh out your filler@240mgx 100caps=24gms of filler
You would then add the r-ala and the filler into a small tupleware container and shake for aminute to assure comlete mixing. You may also add some food colouring before mixing(just a pinch) and once the powder has a uniform colour that means your preperation is ready. If you only have access to #00 caps then you have to add aprox. 570mg or x100=57 grams. Remember the smaller the capsule size and the least amount of filler needed will yield the most accurate and consistent capsule dosages.
Here you go brother, good luck:

As you can see a#4 would be ideal but it is trickier to work with.
A #1 is pretty easy.
