Help Make My Diet!!!

IronMind24

New member
I currently weigh on average 165lbs. I am 5'8, so 165lbs is pretty good for my height. Was thinking of trying the Abs Diet but wanted some input first.
Most of my fat goes to my abs area.
My workouts are usually band resistance, chinups, pullups, dips, pushups, etc..
No weights this period.
I need to really pick good meals for the week. Snacks could be protein bars/almonds/shakes.

not really, just definitely need to lose a lot of fat... probably maintain mass or gain a bit more while losing the fat!

I have no way of measuring... If i were to guess it would be around 16%...Is there any other way to make a better estimate?

You are going to lose some mass when losing fat, I'm sure there are people that can get away with that, and people on gear. If you are 16% BF at 165

Assuming you keep all the mass you have, and you are really 16% BF. If you lose no mass at all, keep it and just lose fat, you'll weigh 139 pounds at 5'8". You'll lose some mass so for fun lets see 135 pounds. You want to weigh 135 pounds at 5'8"?

No way. I want to get to at least 10%bf at 160-170lbs.

So, you are wanting to go down that weight.

Eat a clean calorie reduced diet and you'll lose weight. Chicken, almonds, no fat cottage cheese, maybe some Whey Protein for PWO. ANPB is good too on some whole wheat bread.

I feel you bro I'm about your height and 170'ish but I dont think I look that light at all. LBS is just a number my man. F&*% it bro if you look good you look good, that's all that matters. I don't have much fat myself but I do have a few% to go before summer hits and I get caught up in the number game myself from time to time. But in the end you probably know what you want so go for it. I'm no diet GURU but there are quite a few in here that will send you in the right direction, I just wanted to sympathize with the LBS issue, GODSPEED friend....

How long have you been lifting? What is your current diet? Do you do any cardio? Need more info before anybody can really help
I have been lifting for about 3-4 years but stopped for a year and am now starting again. My diet is trying to avoid too many carbs and eating carbs after 5-6pm... I've never really had a strict diet, just supplementing with protein and eating protein rich foods... that's why im asking for help with my diet... I'm not sure what my grocery list and meals should look like :) My only cardio is probably lifting... I'm thinking of cycling or running in the morning...

No one is going to hand you over a diet plan, at least from what I've noticed in my time on here. You need to do a bit of research yourself and come back with a plan you think will work, then others will give their advice on it.

Step 1) Post up the Lifting Routine you are doing

Step 2) Post up your meal plan, what you eat from morning to night and in what increments, like are they 2-3 hours apart or what?

Step 3) Post up the calorie count, pro/carb/fat grams in your diet that you have just posted.

Do some leg work yourself and others will help you, no one is going to help you with you just asking for diets because we don't know what you like, and it shows a lack of dedication to do no real research yourself.

you're right, its just that everytime i try on my own, i end up messing up... Here's what I usually eat on a daily basis:
-
Sometimes I replace the breakfast with a strawberry protein smoothie (around 44g protein)
-
8AM: 2 whole eggs, wheat bread, v8 splash
11:30AM: atkins protein bar
1PM: Rice, Meat, Salad
5PM: unsalted Almonds
8PM: Lasagna, Meat, Burger (it varies)
****WORKOUT****
10PM: strawberry or any fruit Protein Shake (22g-44g)
-
What my problem is choosing each daily meal. This is what it usually looks like and I'm no where near eating how I should be. I need a good organized diet to try out, I just work a lot and barely have the time....

For those of you who've been able to get down to a very low BF% with their diet, don't hesitate to help! :)

IMO a low BF will not be achieved by many or maintained for a long period of time easily... Im even guessing it wouldn't be attainable with burgers, lasagna, breads, or bars...unless you are genetically & nutritionally gifted

this is from JPT

"meal 1 cottage cheese with pineapples

meal 2 5 whole eggs 2 egghwites 1 cup of oats

meal 3 6 oz of grilled chiken with brown rice and green veggies

meal 4 8oz of steak with green veggies (i'm a beleiver in trying not to eat fat with carbs)

meal 5 shake

meal 6 either use meal 2 3 or 4 again or mix them up....

meal 7 3 scoops of anpb

this is just an example diet bro...you need to fine tune it and see what works for you. also i have no clue when you workout or take your shakes so play around with when you eat what on that diet i posted"
