I need help loosing body fat and some form of motivational stimulant.
I weighed, what I thought was my heaviest in 1995 (320lbs, 5'8", 30+% body fat). I started a strict vegetarian diet, skim milk, lots of water, and 4 - 5 hours of exercise a day. My workout was geared towards power lifting, heavy weights low-reps with emphasis on benching and squatting with minimal assistance work, for 2 hours followed by cardio 1 hour on the stationary bike, 30 minutes of abs and at the end of the day 1 hour of walking.
This allowed me to loose alot of BF, increase my lifts and loose weight. At the end of a year I, had gotten down to 240lbs and increased my lifts considerably. At my best I was fluctuating weight of 220 - 235 lbs. I have never used supplements, other than creatine. I have been strictly a gym lifter and have flirted with the idea of power lifting competitively. In 1997 I had Gym PRs of 420 Bench, 715 Squat and a 560 Dead Lift.
Since, 1997 I have gained more than 230 lbs and have become a giant tub of goo. When I lost all of the weight, in 1996, I didn't have a wife, (3) kids and a office job that requires I sit on my enormous ass all day. I have tried getting that self-motivation back, a diet that works (Atkins), combined with exercise (bought a treadmill). I hate commercial gyms and can't deal with the friendly older members who tell me that what I'm lifting looks really heavy, rite in the middle of psyching myself up for a lift, "the soft sounds of the 70's" playing on the gym radio at 5:30 in the morning, or the occasional passive aggressive meat-head who pretends that he and I are having some imaginary lifting contest.
Currently I’m building a home gym, in my basement, and need something (Dr. pre-scribed or otherwise) that can keep me motivated, will give me noticeable gains in fat loss so I can stay focused and motivated to lose, and is proven to work..
Can anyone recommend a solution?
