HELP: Developing And Marketing An Invention

Silent Method

New member
Here's the deal. I have an idea for a system that has the potential to dramatically increase the productivity and efficiency of the biggest players in a major industry. The technology for each of the components of my system already exists.

I'm trying to brainstorm and compile the ideas that might make creating and marketing this thing a reality. I believe very strongly that their is a very strong potential market for this system - especially if it could be pre-developed and ready to plug in to the industry.

These are a few ideas of steps needed for making this a reality. Obviously I have a long way to go, and much more to think about.

- Outline the theoretical design of the system.
*What is it?
*What does it do?
*How is it applied?
*In what other ways might it be applied/useful?
*What are some possible variations of the system?

- Identify the technology required.
*What are the components of the system?
*What alternate components should/must be considered?
*Where are these components available?
*Can these components be successfully integrated into the system?

- Identify the various methods and corresponding costs related to compiling the system.

- Identify the feasibility of marketing the system.

- Identify how to compile/market the system.
*Simply patent the system?
*Work with vendors to build the actual system and sell?

Those of you who are reading this are, by now, wondering just what the hell is this "system." Well, at this stage of the game I'd rather not say in specific terms. It would require some small pieces of personnel operated hardware linked wirelessly to a computer. As I said, the hardware components exist, but to my knowledge have not specifically been compiled into this system and implemented commercially. Obviously, some new software and integration with preexisting computer systems would be required.

Karma for help!

Looks like you're already on the right track dude. REmember, when writing a full business plan -- always sit down and read it like you're a guy at a bank or a critic. And see if there's any holes or things u don't understand, or assumptions that are too broad.

Critque your plan well b4 someone else does.

bingo. I develop and market innovative products. I hve guys come to me every freaking week with their "brilliant" idea that is going to make a gazillion dollars and change the world. 99% of them haven't even taken it to the step yet of writing a business plan. Then when the do the whole thing falls apart.

Get a copy of Business Plan Pro. It's a step-by-step program that will help you map the whole thing out... including costs and break even figures and projections. Once you have that document you have a blueprint of your idea.

Get non-disclosure agreements before you show it to people.
