HELP!...contest diet; the last week

Hi everyone.I really need your help, need advice pertaining to last week before contest and the day of.

Im an amateur figure competitor,my stats are 5'5",about 130 contest, 12%BFI.

I need advice on:How far out should I start my sodium deplete?What type carbs should I use the last few days?Most veggies bloat me and I am afraid to use them too close to contest.Does carbing up 3 days before contest sound right? Should I stick to just protein powder the last few days to limit mass? I am starting to look flat as I keep my carbs very low, what can I use to peak? I have heard glycerine,rice cakes,raw honey, and natural peanut butter works, any thoughts? Also any advice on how to use dandilion root and how far out to start?

I'm not clear -- are you competing on Nov 2? If so, you cut it awfully short to ask these sorts of questions. I'm a bb, not figure so I dont' know how far to take it ---

Start your sodium depletion Wednesday night or Thursday morning. Cut out all fibrous veggies as early as Monday. Carb-up should be sweet potatoes/spuds/rice cakes at around 3 grams per kg bodyweight (for you that's around 160-170g) per day. Protein ideally comes from very low sodium stuff like chicken breasts.

Peaking is a very personal thing, and you really need someone with a trained eye to tell you what to eat/drink (or not) during the last 24 hours.

Also, check out Arnold's "The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding" - there are sections on the final week diet and sodium, water, etc.

My friends and I have been trying to figure it all out, too - our trainer has told us what he wants us to do, but we have heard lots of other things, too, such as what you mentioned on the peanut butter and honey.

I'm confused, there's so much different advice. We are a little concerned because he wants us to eat beef and yams, the yams sound right, but we're afraid the beef may be too heavy, so we're still trying to decide whether to bring along some natural peanut butter and honey the day of the show. I'll probably bring both beef/yams and peanut butter/honey and see what feels right at the time. I also like the advice about sharing a little wine (I think Sassy69 posted that one). Everyone has been warning me about water intake - read the post, it's got lots of details on the water depletion.

I personally cut out veggies on wednesday before my show...I sodium load till Wednesday, light on thursday and then cut it out on friday..I started carb loading wed and thurs...on friday I eat lean sirloin all day and as well on saturday...Drink 2-2 1/2 gallons of water till wednesday...1.5 on thursday..and 1/2 on friday..sip saturday morning. I used before prejudging nat pb, honey and some protein powder...yummy mix:) You really should have someone helping you!! and you should have been planning!!! Not last minute decisions...its good for someone to see you and check out your body to make changes if needed. I cant see you so I can only give general advice etc. Water manipulation will only work if you are lean enough...otherwise you will just lose a lil weight and look smaller. I would do a search and check out some older threads....Goodluck to you!!!!!!
