Help!.....10 yr anniversary, where should I take my wife?

It's been a good 10 years and I'd like to take my wife on a fun trip for our anniversary.

We lived in Hawaii, so that's out of the question....

I don't want to go Europe, so that's out too...

We could probably come up with about a weeks vacation each..... and the time frame is the beginning of October sometime.

Where should we go? Please help...
 
Banff is just north of Calgary, Ehh?

I've been to Calgary for work, and it was "OK"

We are more of a beach-type of people.

I had in mind going Mexico somewhere or to the Caribbean or something.

Problem is that I've never been to any of the resorts or on a cruise before, so I don't really know which is more fun.
 
If you would characterize yourself as more towards the KMart crowd, then a cruise or the Bahamas will be right up your alley (if you are fat, or enjoy the company of fat women, then the cruise is most certainly your best choice). I haven't been to the beaches of Mexico, but I have heard similar things about some of them.

If you are a golf playing man that is a bit snootier, then Bermuda is for you.

Really, we're both 29 and would like to go somewhere where there's a party and fun every night (while we're still young).

You need to be VERY careful though - that place is full of Mexicans.

BTW, my wife is part Mexican, so they might not let her back into the US........... wait,...... we live in Texas, nevermind.

Part Mexican? Oh the scandal. Which part? :D

Like I said, I haven't been to the beaches, only the scummy border towns.
But of the beaches that my friends and relatives have been to, it sounds like the place you would want is Cancun. (sp?)
 
Beware..

of the caribbean in October...it seems Hurricane season is getting off to a late start, not saying you will get hit with a Hurricane, but if the pattern is active in October, you'll have plenty of successive cloudy days in a lot of places.

I'm in the same situation, looking in mid to late Novemeber though, Barbados looks nice, as does the Cayman Islands...Cancun is beautiful, but you'll leave there wondering why you ever got married:):)

I won't fly charter airlines, so I'm a bit limited.
 
South America has nice appeal untill you are shot.... Try renting a house on a small lake in the northeast and having a week alone to have some fun:) , privacy at its best
 
Fiji Islands... it is not that expensive either.

How about Costa Rica?

i stayed in jaco had a good time but I think there are much better places to stay. I went to go surfing.

It is basically a party resort. Some people think it is a swingers resort which it is NOT. However, there is lots of sex that does go on there, even during the day, right out in the open. (Nude Side)

There are three ways to go to Hedo. Nude, Prude (Not Nude) or Clothing Opitional. I suggest the third (c/o). We stayed in the c/o area and had a blast. We had a swim up room (you walked out your balcony and were in the pool). Drinks flow non stop and you can drink all night. Hell there were nights that we were getting drinks at 5:00am and going down the waterslide. Its crazy.

If you go to Hedo to party, thats just what you will do. If you go to have sex out in public, thats what you will do. If you go to have sex with other people, you can, and that what you will do.

Basically, you can get/do/be basically anything that you want to do. Kronkette and I are open minded people but we stayed clear of the nude side. Frankly, MOST (not all) of the people over there were over weight and unattractive and honestly, the pool was just GROSS!

Kronkette was topless the entire trip (other than eating and diving/snorkeling etc). We went w/o bottoms mostly at night and only in the hot tub. We both just are not into the whole naked thing that much. We did have sex during the day out in the open a few times, and it was fun. One time in a hammock right off a boardwalk so people would stop to watch and it was kinda cool.

Sex in the pool (late at night) or in the hot tubs happens daily.

Check out the website and the link and you will get a lot of information. Basically, if you want a NON stop party for your vacation, this is the only place to go. Its a fucking BLAST.

Hedo III sounds excellent! That's where we'd like to go next and will take the Kronk's advice and do the c/o area.

Cancun is someplace that we enjoy...been there a few times and really enjoyed it...not quite as fun as Hedo sounds, but a wonderful place all in all. You will be treated like a king and queen, the foods are woderful, pleanty of stuff to do right there on the island or take a few organized excursions off the island. And...it's not expensive.

Only went on one cruise, Norwegian cruise lines was horrible. I hear Carnival and others are good...get some recommendations before picking out a ship if you choose a cruise.

It's a little out of left field, but if you want something to remember, come to Sydney (if your budget allows).

Imagine a photo of you and your wife on top of Sydney Harbour Bridge overlooking the most beautiful harbour in the world as a way to remember your tenth anniversary.

Best beaches in the world here bar none.

I'll even be happy to chapperone if you like
 
MrsPuddlesFL, we were thinking (as one of our options) of taking a 5-day Carnival cruise out of Galveston, TX (fairly close) that goes to Cozumel and Calica (I haven't heard of that place) and the price is about $300-$400

Happy, no..... I didn't think of Jersey..... but I'm glad you mentioned it :D
 
The Garden state has tons to offer any traveler.

The Scenic Toxic Waste Dumps of New Jersey provide a glow to the evening surf as the translucent medical waste, mostly crack head needles, wash up on the shore.
 
Hell, just stay in Galveston - that was only the most unpleasant place on earth that I've ever had the displeasure of staying in for a weekend.

and I've been to Trenton New Jersey, so that is saying a lot.
although my white ass didn't stay long in Trenton.
 
A couple of years ago we went to Galveston for their Mardi Gras celebration......

.... it was a lot of fun...... but I haven't been there since.
