Hello im new,and confused!!

This has to be the best bodybuilding site ive ever seen,

Im glad i found it ,hello to everyone,

I have a few questions that i need to ask.

Ive been on and off bodybuilding more times than a bad relationship:D
Im confused about how much protien i need in the form of weight gainers<shakes>
I want to add muscle <dahh>but how many calories should i take if im not all that active unless im lifting weights,im not working at the moment so i have free time and usually laze about after a workout,and ussually before one as well ,lets face it im lazy,is that a bad thing,should i be more active and get out and about to boost growth and get it all circulating.
I was working out and stopped about 3 weeks ago and going to get into it again,but im tied of travelling the same road and dont know completely what im doing in terms of nutrition,carbs and protien getting the balance right .I was training hard but only for about 40mins every second day,but i seemed to be not gaining well at all,unless you count the waistline as gaining ,its out at about 43 inches now and im about 5/10 in height and weigh 94 kilos.I try to use only compound exercises when i train to really gain some beef.Where can i get some simple,and i mean simple advice that will help me understand a little better what im doing with my diet and my training.Its important to me to get rid of this embarassing gut ,more so than gaining huge mass quickly.I however would envy a bit of muscle at the same time ,is this asking too much,any ideas anyone,
