Hey everyone. Most of you know that I have been stationed in Okinawa, Japan for a year of over seas duty. March 22nd I left the states for here. I spent well over 20 hours in flight alone. One flight was frigging 13 hours long. That was mentally tormenting especially when the batteries to my cd player started to die. Spent a week in reception to recover from the jet lag and to get somewhat used to the island. Not too bad.
I was with the 9th Engineer Support Battalion, Bulk Fuel Company for approximately two weeks until they decided to send me to Camp Gaurd duties. Now I'm attached the grunts of 1/3 for the next 5-7 months acting out the duties of sentry of the gaurd for camp security.
They give us some bad ass weapons. M-1014 Bonelli Semi-auto shotgun (my new favorite), and next week I'll qualify with the 9mm pistol. I work shift work hours, and every other weekend receive a 72. Not a bad deal. We're kind of just like the MP's so I don't have too many people liking me. Bad enough that the Okinawans don't like "GI's", and now the Marines aren't too fond of me. They underage drink, it's me and my guys who bust them. They get into bar fights, me and my guys do that shit too. Even if they do shit out in town I go out there to stop shit. It's like they say though "A Marine on duty has no friends".
There are a lot of protests always going on over here simply b/c they want their land back. My logic is that we won the war, so they can go fuck themselves.
