For those of you who have followed my past 8 month skin struggle and have offered your advice and support here is an update. Well, got my biopsy results back and it's looking like this. No viral infection or fungal infection was found, thank goodness (so it was not molluscum or any type of herpes related problem). HIV test was negative!!!!! Bigger thank God! Still possibly could be a bacterial infection, but the doc said it was not anything serious like staph! Well, she went on to say it looked as if it was just an atypical case of pustular/papular rosacea particularly ocular rosacea. This is a form of acne not directly related to the typical acne that all of us tend to get as teenagers and even as adults. The cause is really unknow but a large percentage of people get it and really don't even realize it's a problem due to it having several different stages of severity. Can be anything from the flushing reddening of the skin to even disfigurement of the nose. Well, once again I'm on oral antibiotics, this time Doxycycline and a topical antibiotic called Metrogel. Been taking now for roughly a week and although symptoms got worse at first it does seem to be clearing up some here in the last couple of days. I'm finally hoping this thing will be put at bay! It's been a long and rough haul for me. But, at least it's not nearly as severe as I thought it was!
