Why would some fucking nutjob, who is bent on blowing away as many people as he can, go through all of the time, hassle, and money to legally carry a gun? Do you honestly think he is going to do that, or do you think he will hide it under his coat and pull it on an unsuspecting crowd?

It's not like a person just shows up to the DMV and announces they want to carry a weapon. It's quite a pain in the ass to do it legally.

And that shooter shouldn't have had a gun at that mall, anyway. It was a "gun free zone". Does the phrase "gun free" ever pertain to anyone else besides the law-abiding citizen?

Yes, let's be real, folks. Assuming that people only sane people register guns is not being real. Most people who go nuts like that aren't nuts 24/7. If they were we'd identify them and lock them up long before they did any harm.
