If people are truly "thoughtful" human beings, they will have to live w/ their own definition of hell (if it applies, such as Hitler), and if not then they are simply ignorant and have not achieved a level of existence that qualifies to be called "human". They are no better than animals and simply don't know better.

in a society based upon judeo-christianity, heaven and hell serve as both an imaginary reward and punishment. its the way the commanders of our existence hold us in corners, never letting us decide our own morals. its the excuse they use to create stupid rules such as 'anabolic steroids should be illegal'. why are they illegal??? because or christian society and rulebook tells us not to screw with gods creation, and therefor it becomes a law, with some twist to make it sound unreligious. it all goes back to the same shit. as said by george carlin, 'if you can make people believe that there's a man in the sky watching everything they do, you can make them believe anything.'
