Have you ever played Beirut?

This is a game I first played in college. Two teams, on opposite sides of a table (preferably the size of a ping pong table), each with their own triangle of plastic cups (each with beer in them, of course). Each member on each team throws a ping pong ball, aiming for any of the cups in the opposing team's triangle. If a ball is sunk, the other team drinks that beer, and the cup is eventually removed. When a team has no more cups left, that team loses. There are variations and modifications which make the game more interesting, but these are the basics.

I'm sure some of you have played this. This was my favorite drinking game. I haven't played in a long time. I miss it.

we played that a lot in my fraternity. however, it was quite disgusting when you think about it. those fucking ping pong balls would always wind up on the floor, which we would mop with the same mops used to pick up puke and clean the bathrooms.

True. Very nasty if you think about it. Fortunately, we didn't (much). All we had was a cup of hot water to dip the ball in before every single shot.

Yep, I've heard it called that, but at our school it was Beirut. And beer pong was a drinking version of ping pong which had cups of beer on the table during play.

This reminds me of the last time I played a drinking game. We were playing some dumb card game. The girl next to me was drinking hard liquor. She kept having to drink. Well, she kept drinking and.........puked on me!!!!! It was so gross!!!

Yeah I've played Beirut. I used to be good at it, but haven't played in ages.

From what I have seen the difference between Beirut and beer pong is that in Beirut the ball can't bounce off the table into the cup.
