Stringy and a bit dry if fried..

More like Chicken thigh or leg meat if stewed.

Only real meat is on the legs, so U might as well ditch the rest IMO..

Let's see: Rabbit, snake, deer, elk, antelope, caribou, all sorts of fish, goose, duck, chicken, cow, goat, quail, eel, urchin, octapus, frogs, but so far not squirrel all though I wouldn't be opposed.

As one of my favorite bumper stickers says "If God didn't want us to eat animals why did he make them out of meat?"

I used to eat squirrel when I was a kid living down in Louisiana. I remember that I really liked the way it tasted!!

You guys are looking at what we hillbillies call "piney" squirrels. They're not worth the trouble to skin and cook. When I was a kid, we had the big red "fox" squirrels, and one of those would make two of those scrawny little ones.

Thing is, those little runty guys outbred the big ones. Dad would go out during squirrel season and try to even the odds a bit, pick off a few the pineys even though they're no good for eating, just to give the fox squirrels a chance... but he finally gave up squirrel hunting completely.

Saw a fox squirrel a little while ago, but it was the first one in a very long time.
