Has anybody had Lasic(sp?) surgery here???

MY DAD JUST HAD IT. I ALSO KNOW A FEW PEOPLE WHO HAD IT DONE. MY MOM WORKS FOR AN EYE DOCTOR WHO PERFORMS THEM ALL THE TIME.

I had it done about 3 years ago.My vision was a total shit heap before. Now I'm @ damn near 20-20.But I'm only 3 years into it mind you.It regresed only a tad.

my wife did 2 years ago. she sees perfectly still. no regression. no follow-ups. highly recommended.

Nobodys eyes liquidified and ran down their cheeks.. cool. That was one of my main fears.

I've been thinkin about it for a while now, I think I"LL make an app. mon.

only thing that scared me was the disclaimer I had to sign before setting my appt.Crazy shit listed on there.

Anyways,no pain,in the docs ofice for about 15 minutes, was watching t.v. that night, just so happened to be the south park episode where cartman had laser sugery done:lmao:

my previous boss had it done and there was some problem with the surgery, i can't remember exactly what. but now her right eye is permanently damaged, nothing can be done to fix it, and she can't wear contacts.

on the other hand my best friend had it done about 5 years ago and she is very happy with her 20/20 vision.

a friend of my parents who had it done has problems with night vision but everything else is fine so far.

I'm interested in doing it as well.
I understand there's two versions.
One that uses a laser to measure and a scalple that slices off a thin layer of the cornea.
And another that uses a laser to measure and then burn the thin layer off the cornea.
But isn't there a statistical (something like 10%) chance of blindness or serious problems?
