Hand pump filters as in the pump you use to create a vacume ON the filter?
If so, the mighty vac is a beautiful thing for beginers...you can get them at car-parts stores. They are sold in kits that are used for bleeding brakes.

Have you seen these before? the kit comes with a filter and all correct? Or do you also have to order whatman filters. I wouldnt know how you would hook up any pther filter to the pump then the one the kit comes with. Thanks for the help

the connections on all the filters I have seen/used (whatman, stericup, etc.) are the same... They will all accept the hose that comes with the pump from autozone, advance auto parts, etc.

Just buy the filter cups somewhere, and the pump from the auto parts store, and you are good to go.

I can give you a pretty good place for the sterile, disposable filter units/cups if you send me a pm.
